How it started
I was at Ben's and we decided it was a shame that we didn't know more about our relatives. If we had just thought of it while Daddy, Adam Long, was still alive, but we didn't. So in 1953, I invited as many relatives as I could to come to our home in Beaver Falls. Intending to go to the park, but the day was not so promising and it looked like rain, so we just had a buffet lunch at the house. Those who came were all descendants of Adam Long, except Mary Kay's who is the daughter of Annie Long Flick. Attending were Ben and Effie Long, Clarence, Katherine, Tommy Brannigan, also Clarence's mother Sarah Brannigan - all from Greensburg. Roland and Eunice Long from Hagerstown, Md., my brother Stephen who brought our son and family from Cincinnati, Ohio - Arthur, Ruth, Fred, Patty, June and Mary Ruth Walley. Our other children attending were Jane and Russ Bowser, Pete, Ann, Pete Jr., John and Jim Wolosencuk.
Rachel Long Walley
I would like to acknowledge all of the Long family relatives for their time and effort to make these genealogy records possible. Often more than one person is responsible for creating this type of information. Thank you Rachel Long Walley for taking the initiative to get us started.
